This family has also been shown to be repressed and to suppress (in specific tumour types) a series of oncogenes that include c-Myb, Bmi-1, BCL-2, WNT3A, and Wip1 (Bottoni et al, 2005; Cimmino et al, 2005; Bonci et al, 2008; Bandi et al, 2009; Bhattacharya et al, 2009; Zhao et al, 2009; Zhu et al, 2009; Klein et al, 2010; Meyer-Rochow et al, 2010; Zhang et al, 2010). This evidence concerns the gene BCL2 and neoplasm.
