IFNG and malaria: We found that increased plasma levels of IL-10 (values above 46 pg/mL) were independently associated with asymptomatic malaria (OR: 16.56, 95% CI: 7.59–36.16, P<0.0001), whereas higher levels of IFN-γ (values above 198 pg/mL) were related to the occurrence of symptomatic infection (OR: 0.13, 95% CI: 0.05–0.21, P<0.0001; Figure 2).
