Increased activation of p38MAPK has been found in brain homogenates in all the tauopathies (Ferrer et al.,2005), and often phosphorylated p38MAPK immunoreactivity has been found in colocalization with activated SAPK/JNK (Ferrer et al.,2001; Giovannini et al.,2008). This evidence concerns the gene MAPK9 and tauopathy.
