CRP and diabetes mellitus: Significant univariate associations with albuminuria (unadjusted odds ratio and 95% CI) in DRUID participants were: age, 1.04 (1.03-1.06); waist circumference, 1.02 (1.01-1.04); waist-hip ratio, 212 (32-1406); mean systolic blood pressure, 1.05 (1.03-1.06); mean diastolic blood pressure, 1.07 (1.05-1.09); HbA1c, 1.6 (1.4-1.8); total cholesterol, 1.3 (1.1-1.5); HDL cholesterol, 0.3 (0.1-0.5); diabetes, 4.0 (2.9-6.1); current smoker, 1.5 (1.0-2.3); and the following log-transformed variables: triglycerides, 2.4 (1.8-3.3) and CRP, 1.6 (1.3-1.9).
