LMP1 expression induces many of the changes associated with EBV infection and activation of primary B cells, including cell clumping; increased cell surface expression of CD23, CD39, CD40, CD44; decreased expression of CD10; and increased expression of the cell adhesion molecules CD11a (LFA1), CD54 (ICAM1), and CD58 (LFA3) [5-8]. This evidence concerns the gene ICAM1 and Epstein-Barr virus infection.
