Manna et al. demonstrated the compound 5-(4-methoxyarylimino)-2-N-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-3-oxo-1,2,4-thiadiazolidine (P(3)-25), which is known to possess anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-tubercular, and local anesthetic activities, reduced phosphorylation of p65 by inhibiting upstream kinases including protein kinase A, CK2α etc resulting in down-regulation of nuclear factor (NF) kappaB-dependent reporter gene, COX2 in cancer cells with constitutive expression of NF kappaB[25]. This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and cancer.
