While CCND2 hypermethylation was very infrequent (3%) in our current study's low-risk group of 30 never-smokers, it was more frequent in a high-risk group of ever-smokers (24–26% in our current and previous studies), and most frequent in overt NSCLC tissue (40–56%). Here, CCND2 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
