Many risk factors have been associated with the increasing prevalence of ovarian cancer; these include age (mainly perimenopausal and postmenopausal age), positive family history (5–10% of cases are familial) [5], genetics (BRCA1 and BRCA2 oncogenes), diet (mainly meats and saturated fats) [1], and other reproductive factors. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA2 and ovarian cancer.
