The DESIR prospective cohort study demonstrated that the GCKR variant rs1260326 T allele was strongly associated with increased triglyceride levels, lower fasting glucose and insulin levels, a lower HOMA-IR index, and a higher risk for dyslipidemia, but a lower risk for hyperglycemia and type 2 diabetes in a general French population [9]. This evidence concerns the gene GCKR and metabolic syndrome.
