Similarly, two phase 3 studies that assessed the combination of chemotherapy, bevacizumab, and an anti-EGFR monoclonal antibody in patients with advanced metastatic colorectal cancer found that this combination did not improve outcomes but was associated with exacerbated toxicity compared with chemotherapy plus bevacizumab alone [28–30].
