This correlation is much stronger than those observed for other biological markers of AAA (i.e hemorphin 7/thrombus volume: r = 0.293 [28], MMP-9/AAA expansion: r = 0.33 [47], thioredoxin/AAA diameter: r = 0.5 [48]), and thus strengthens the potential link between P. gingivalis infection and AAA development. Here, MMP9 is linked to triple-A syndrome.
