CDH17 and Usher syndrome: The study therefore adds to a growing body of data [10], [11], [12], [13], [17] showing that two members of the cadherin superfamily, both of which are products of Usher Type 1 syndrome loci [38], [39], [40], are components of the hair cell's tip link, and that this link is required for normal gating of the hair cell's mechanotransducer channel.
