The observations that were obtained in this part of the study support the possibility that high prevalence of TNFα and IL-1β expression in the IDC-with-relapse patients contributes to re-growth of the tumors and to metastasis formation by inducing processes that push forward these processes, e.g. via EMT and/or cooperative activity with other pro-malignancy factors that are expressed by the tumor cells, or by cells of the tumor microenvironment. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and neoplasm.
