Our findings of no association between SNPs in hormone metabolism pathway genes and breast cancer risk are consistent with the results from other large studies such as BPC3 [13,29,30,41] and meta-analyses of selected functional SNPs in CYP1A1 [23], SULT1A1 [42,43], CYP1B1 [44,45], and COMT [46], although two smaller meta-analyses of selected functional SNP in COMT supported an association in Caucasian populations [47,48]. Here, SULT1A1 is linked to breast cancer.
