APOB and stricture: Important histopathological evidence that calcific aortic valve stenosis develops in the same way as seen in atherosclerosis was reported by O'Brien et al.,3 who found that apolipoproteins B and E were present in early lesions and advanced aortic valve stenosis, but not in the region of normal valves, and found the same pattern of lipoproteins in coronary atherosclerosis.2,3
