In contrast, immunoblastic DLBCL usually occurs in the context of severe immunosuppression, has a high frequency of EBV positivity (80–90%) with frequent expression of LMP-1 and EBNA-2, shows a non-germinal centre B-cell/activated B-cell phenotype (lack of expression of CD10 and BCL6, expression of CD138 and MUM1), and lacks rearrangements of BCL635 (Table 2, Table 3). This evidence concerns the gene MME and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
