The advent of novel agents with activity in CLL, including antibodies such as alemtuzumab,37 anti-CD20 ofatumumab, and anti-CD23 lumiliximab; BCL2 inhibitors such as oblimersen and ABT263; immunomodulatory drug lenalidimide; and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor flavopiridol, may change the paradigms in CLL therapy. Here, BCL2 is linked to B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
