In our study, FRDA patients had average frataxin levels of 13.8±4.6 pg/μg total protein, which were different to those detected by others in PBMCs (1.1–4.8 pg/μg) [12] or lymphoblasts (127±77 pg/μg) [10], or even in control buccal swabs (30 pg/μg) [11]. The gene discussed is FXN; the disease is Friedreich ataxia.
