SRF and ulcer disease: The rates of high SRF expression were significantly higher in ulcer tissues (Figure 1A) than in non-ulcer tissues (Figure 1D), including the superficial epithelium (54.2% vs. 30.3%, p < 0.01), mononuclear cells of the lamina propria (69% vs. 58.5%, p = 0.021), and mucosal smooth muscle cells (80% vs. 68.1%, p = 0.024) (Table 1).
