The need for C. albicans to rapidly adapt to changingenvironmental conditions during the initiation of infection was reflected by theup-regulation of numerous genes involved in protein synthesis, including genescoding for ribosomal proteins (RPS10, RPS14B, RPP2A, RPP2B, RPL38,39, and 82, MRPL8), RNA helicases(HAS1) and transcriptional activators(CTA26) (Table S5). The gene discussed is RPL38; the disease is infection.
