In a previous microarray analysis, we recognised the histone (lysine) methyl-transferase Enhancer of Zeste, Drosophila, Homolog 2 (EZH2) and Chondromodulin-I (CHM1) as strongly upregulated genes in ET (Staege et al, 2004) and demonstrated that EZH2 has a critical role in ET pathology by determining the oncogenicity and stem cell phenotype of this tumour (Richter et al, 2009). This evidence concerns the gene EZH2 and neoplasm.
