The controversial findings may be due to a relative small number of patients (n = 25) for the survival analysis in the study by Woenckhaus et al. Recent study by Rose et al. showed that high Skp2 expression (>25% Skp2 staining) predicted worse seven-year post-recurrence survival when comparing low Skp2 expression (≤25% Skp2 staining) in 93 cases of metastatic melanoma patients [31].
