Beneficial effects of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) have been described in several transgenic animal models of AD [18], [19], including improved performance in the Morris water maze paradigm [20], [21], prevention of the hyperphosphorylation of tau [22], decreased Aβ levels [21], [22], [23], [24], [25] and protection from the loss of synaptic proteins [20], [26].
