A role of genetic variation in the PRKCI gene in prostate cancer aetiology is plausible given that atypical protein kinase C lambda/iota (aPKCλ/ι), encoded by the PRKCI gene, is a protein kinase C isozyme, which plays multifunctional roles in cellular maintenance and growth of epithelial cells[31], [32], [33], [34], [35], [36],[37]. Here, PRKCI is linked to prostate carcinoma.
