Taken together, the IFNAR1 expression data from the colitic and healthy mice, as well as the effect of IFNAR1 loss or downregulation in IFNAR1−/− mice or in vitro cultures respectively, suggest that the loss of IFNAR1 expression may correlate with a decreased ability to generate Tregs, which in the course of DSS colitis may ultimately lead to increased sensitization. This evidence concerns the gene IFNAR1 and colitis.
