Immunohistochemical staining of 65 primary NSCLC tissues and 10 matched local positive lymph node specimens confirmed that the over-expression of S100A11 in NSCLC tissues was significantly associated with higher tumor-node-metastasis stage and positive lymph node status, implying regulatory role of this protein in promoting invasion and metastasis of NSCLC [69]. This evidence concerns the gene S100A11 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
