Our opinion is that the in vitro and in vivo data strongly suggest the use of AZD1152 in the treatment of pancreatic cancer, and these data are consistent with clinical trials already ongoing in pancreatic cancer using drugs inhibiting Aurora kinases, such as MLN8054 and AS703569, selective inhibitors of Aurora A kinase and Aurora B kinase, respectively (www.clinicaltrials.gov). Here, AURKB is linked to pancreatic neoplasm.
