CCND1 and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes: Since 1998, we have been investigating alterations in CCND1 using fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH), with fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy samples from primary OSCCs, and have demonstrated clearly that CCND1 numerical aberrations are significantly associated with an invasive phenotype and cervical lymph node metastasis in OSCCs (Miyamoto et al, 2002, 2003; Myo et al, 2005; Uzawa et al, 2007; Takahashi et al, 2009).
