The replication of both the HIV-1 wild type virus and the HIV-1 N74D CA mutant was severely impaired up to 10 days post infection in both shTR3 and shTR4 HeLaP4 cell lines stably depleted of TRN-SR2, although the N74D CA mutant was somewhat less sensitive to TRN-SR2 knockdown (10-fold inhibition in the shTR3 HeLaP4 cells compared to shSCR cells) than the wild type virus (70-fold inhibition in the shTR3 expressing cells compared to shSCR cells). Here, TNPO3 is linked to infection.
