PROM1 and cancer: Immunofluorescence analyses of tumors indicate the presence of two E/M cell fractions: CD133high/membrane E-cadherinlow/cytoplasmic E-cadherinhigh/Tie2negative/low and CD133intermediate/membrane E-cadherinhigh/cytoplasmic E-cadherinnegative/Tie2high.These immunohistological findings are supported by triple-color flow cytometry analysis of ovc316-X xenografts for epithelial markers (x-axis), mesenchymal features (y-axis), and for the cancer stem cell marker CD133 (histogram plots) (Figures 4D–F).
