The deletion of the ETV6 gene at 12p13.2, a gene essential in hematopoiesis and frequently encountered in translocations in acute leukemias and MDS, was noted in five of the six cases with the 12p deletion, including in case #13 a microdeletion of 1.154 Mb confirmed by FISH using the ETV6 probe. This evidence concerns the gene ETV6 and myelodysplastic syndrome.
