APOA1 and metabolic syndrome: A series of studies have shown that an apoB-100/apoA-I ratio ≥0.9 was a fair predictor of presence of the metabolic syndrome (MetS) [36], and men with an apoB-100/apoA-I ratio > 0.9 had also a faster growth of carotid artery intima-media thickness (IMT) than those below this value [37].
