The interaction effect of adiponectin and resistin was more strongly associated (P≤2.32x10-34) with increased risk of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and metabolic syndrome (MS) compared to hypoadiponectinemia (P = 7.65 × 10-9) and hyperresistinemia (P = 3.52 × 10-29) alone (Table 5, Figure 1 and Figure 2).
