Mice lacking LRG-47 fail to control M.tuberculosis infection due to an iNOS-independent defect in maturation of M.tuberculosis-containing phagosomes [39] and we found that induction of the (p47) guanosine triphosphatase family, LRG-47 (IRGM1) occurs between D15 and D21 in the M.tuberculosis-infected lungs (Table 6), suggesting that control of mycobacteria is taking place during this specific stage of infection.
