High uPA levels in primary malignant tumor specimens correlate with a high incidence of relapse, poor prognosis, and high mortality in various tumors, including esophageal, gastric, head and neck, thyroid, breast, colorectal, liver, pancreatic, prostate, endometrial, kidney, and small cell lung cancers; chondrosarcoma, glioma, and leukemia [18-24,38].
