INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: There were no statistically significant interactions of the HNF1A G319S polymorphism with previously reported risk factors of incident diabetes in this population [14] including age, BMI, waist circumference, hypertension (yes/no), HDL and LDL cholesterol, triglyceride, and fasting insulin on the outcome of incident type 2 diabetes after adjustment for age, sex, hypertension, triglyceride, and waist circumference (all p ≥ 0.05) (data not shown), except for fasting insulin (p = 0.03).
