IFNA2 and infection: Unexpectedly, we found viremia levels to be positively correlated with the levels of antiviral cytokine IFNα either for the entire group of 136 patients (r = 0.6446, p<0.0001, Fig. 5c), or two subsets with primary ( = 79) and secondary (n = 57) infections (Fig. 5a, b).
