Though some studies have indicated that patients with locally advanced HER2 overexpressing breast cancers receiving prolonged or high-dose anthracycline-based chemotherapy show no significant change in survival [54], treatment failure [55], and development of distant metastasis [56] when compared to HER2-negative patients, most studies show benefit of anthracycline-based chemotherapy in HER2-positive tumors.
