TB patients on treatment had a significantly higher proportion of ESAT-6/CFP-10-specific IFN-γ/IL-2 secreting T cells and a significantly lower proportion of ESAT-6/CFP-10-specific IFN-γ-only secreting cells than the untreated cohort (figure 4a, b & d, p = 0.0005 and p = 0.008 respectively) with no significant difference in the proportion of ESAT-6/CFP-10-specific IL-2 only-secreting cells (figure 4c). Here, IFNG is linked to tuberculosis.
