FNIP2 and kidney neoplasm: When we examined twelve genes encoding the proteins described in Figure 4A (AKT1, FLCN, FNIP1, FNIP2, PIK3C3, PPARGC1A, PRKAA2, RICTOR, RPTOR, TFAM, TSC1, and TSC2) in our gene expression array data, we noticed a slightly elevated level of FNIP1 expression in BHDS-derived tumors (data not shown) and that FNIP2 was highly deregulated in BHDS-derived tumors, suggesting that these proteins are relevant to FLCN signaling in renal tumor cells (Figure 4BAdditional file 2, Figure S1D).
