The findings presented in the research described above led Yasuhara et al. to investigate the neuroprotective capacity of VEGF-A both in vitro and in vivo in model systems of Parkinson’s disease, the dose-dependent relationship between VEGF-A and neuroprotection, and the neurorescue effects of VEGF-A on in vitro and in vivo models of PD [74–76]. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and Parkinson disease.
