Impaired insulin-stimulated PKB phosphorylation/activity has been observed in skeletal muscle from subjects with type 2 diabetes or PCOS [70]−[72], yet other studies have reported no significant difference in insulin-stimulated PKB activity or phosphorylation in skeletal muscle of subjects with type 2 diabetes [63], [73], [74]. This evidence concerns the gene INS and polycystic ovary syndrome.
