Kawashima and colleagues chose six SNPs (rs314253, rs13331, rs2242449, rs390200, rs507506, rs739669) across the entire DLG4 gene and examined their association with schizophrenia in a Japanese sample [31]; they found no association of these SNPs and their derived haplotypes with schizophrenia; however, we found a borderline association of the rs13331 SNP with schizophrenia in our sample (p = 0.06). Here, DLG4 is linked to schizophrenia.
