Similar results were reported by Cheung et al. [28], who showed that downregulation of hRev7 (also referred to as MAD2B) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells rendered such cells more sensitive to DNA damaging agents, but not to agents whose cytotoxic effect does not generate lesions in DNA, such as anti-metabolites or microtubule-disrupting agents. The gene discussed is MAD2L2; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
