Patients who reported heterosexual contact or injecting drug use as the mode of HIV exposure were at decreased risk of cancer compared with homosexual exposure (Odds Ratio (OR) 0.35, p = 0.005 and OR: 0.17, p = 0.013, respectively), and individuals with CD4 counts above 200 cells/mm3 were approximately 80% less likely to be diagnosed with an ADC (p < 0.001). Here, CD4 is linked to cancer.
