Other auto-antibodies, in fact, have been found in NMO patient sera and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) (anti-myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibodies) [12, 31]: these latter auto-antibodies likely represent a response to neo-antigen liberated from dead cells and thus are not the initial cause of NMO [31, 50].
