These findings support a role for AQP1 in faciliting CSF secretion into the cerebral ventricles by the choroid plexus, and support the hypothesis of a role for AQP1 inhibitors in treating hydrocephalus and benign intracranial hypertension, both of which are associated with CFS formation or accumulation [28].
