It is therefore unclear how the authors' data support their claim that the atheroprotective effects of statins are "offset" by ezetimibe, based upon their reported proportional effects on lipoprotein particle size alone, and irrespective of effects upon LDL-C, non-HDL-C, and apo B levels and especially given the lack of objective atherosclerosis data in their small, single-site study.
