Carter et al. [40] observed in 2003 that preexisting AAbs to lipophilin B peptide are absent in 20 healthy donor sera and 30 lung carcinoma sera, but present in the sera of 20/74 (27%) breast carcinoma patients overall, and 13/35 (37.1%) advanced-stage (stage IV) breast carcinoma patients. This evidence concerns the gene SCGB1D2 and breast carcinoma.
