The TRAPPC2L, DUSP6, MLH1 and RUNX3 genes more than 3-kb distal from the nearest retroelements were similarly overmethylated in the H. pylori positive mucosa (43%) and gastric cancers (LOH-B, 44%; LOH-L, 47%; LOH-H, 33%) (Figure 5B). Here, DUSP6 is linked to gastric cancer.
